Whole Brain® Problem Solving

Problem solving isn’t just about logic - it’s about perspective.
This hands-on workshop helps teams solve problems more effectively by using the full spectrum of thinking. With the Whole Brain® model, participants learn to identify, reframe, and resolve challenges while avoiding common thinking traps.
Practical, adaptable, and designed to shift teams from reactive to strategic.
Why
Because the best ideas don’t come from one part of the brain. They come from all of it.
Whole Brain® problem solving ensures teams:
- Generate more complete, balanced solutions
- Anticipate risks and emotional impacts
- Move from insight to action with alignment
- Improve decision quality while saving time It turns teams from “stuck” to solution-ready.
What
This workshop explores key areas of problem solving through a Whole Brain® lens:
- The Four Stages of Problem Solving: Use the quadrants to map the full problem-solving process: Diagnose (Blue), Plan (Green), Involve (Red), Innovate (Yellow)
- Identifying Thinking Gaps and Strengths: Analyze your team’s natural strengths and blind spots in approaching challenges and provide a practical tool to solve problems through all the 4 lenses of our thinking
- Applying Tools to Real Scenarios: Practice with the Whole Brain® Problem Solving Grid, explore diverse case studies, and debrief group decision dynamics
How
Using real-world scenarios and interactive games, this session explores:
- How different thinking styles approach problem solving
- Strengths and blind spots of each quadrant in a problem context - A step-by-step Whole Brain® problem-solving process
- Collaborative techniques to avoid groupthink and overcome bias
- Application to real or simulated challenges Tools may include quadrant sorting, decision-matrix design, forced-pair brainstorming, and root cause mapping.
**Note: **The HBDI® assessment and personal profile debrief are optional for this workshop. They significantly enhance self-awareness and application, and are strongly recommended — especially when this session is part of a broader learning journey or team development plan.
