Poros | The Straits
Poros is another important island of the Saronic Gulf. Its position (almost touching the coasts of Peloponnese) has made it the gate keeper of Athens. The fleets that used to go around Peloponnese in order to reach Athens had to pass by Poros’ straits. A narrow passage guarded on both ends by fortresses. The island never lost its strategic advantage since it still houses the largest training base of the Hellenic Navy.

For centuries, Poros has welcomed sailors, explorers, and travelers crossing the Saronic Gulf. According to local tradition, the island has long been a safe harbor where stories were exchanged, treasures discovered, and new journeys began. Now it's your turn to uncover the secrets hidden within its picturesque streets.
Using the digital map on Summit tablets or your own smartphone, teams of 4–6 will set off on an interactive walking adventure through the charming town of Poros, exploring landmarks of historical and cultural significance.

When the adventure comes to an end, the team with the highest score will be crowned the winners and rewarded with a delicious box of traditional Amygdalota, Poros' most beloved sweet, to share with the whole team.
