Vytina | The last explorer
Vytina, one of the most renowned villages in the Peloponnese, is the perfect destination for aspiring explorers. Why, you ask? Because it’s the birthplace of Panagiotis Potagos, one of Greece’s most accomplished yet least known explorers. Despite lacking financial support from his homeland, he successfully completed major missions in Asia and Africa, competing on par with some of the most famous foreign explorers.
What you'll do
His legacy includes two manuscripts. The second manuscript, containing Kolokotronis' memories of the Greek War of Independence, was recently discovered during the restoration of the local library. However, it is written in code, and only the boldest and most agile explorers will be able to decipher it!
Clues on paper or a digital map will be your tools for discovery. During this engaging tour, teams of 4-8 people will visit ancient and modern monuments, interact with locals to uncover details, collaborate with your team, and, above all, have fun while learning.
The clues or pins on the map reveal puzzles and surprises. Each clue or pin corresponds to an on-the-spot challenge, whether it’s a puzzle, a question, or a team activity coordinated by Summit facilitators (optional @ an extra cost). By completing these challenges, teams earn bonus points and alphabet letters corresponding to Potagos' secret code.
All challenges are interactive, involving either the surrounding environment or your teammates. Designed to stimulate your team’s collective brain and inquisitive spirit, these challenges are both engaging and playful.
When time is up, the team that first translates the manuscript and has the highest score will be declared the winner and awarded a special Explorer Prize.
