Archipelago is a negotiations game of interactive goal achievement. It's a simulation of a reality in which each participant makes an impact and is affected by everyone else at the same time.
What you'll do
Your government has embarked on an ambitious venture in the Pacific, having purchased a chain of exotic islands at a premium price. Seven ships laden with cutting-edge equipment and technology have brought you here. Your mission: transform these islands into a paradise and forge a dynamic, innovative economy.
You're divided into seven groups, each representing an island with ambitious investors. If your group exceeds 50 members, additional archipelagos are formed to accommodate everyone.
Each island specializes in producing essential products or services crucial to the entire archipelago's prosperity. Every island supplies its goods to two others and depends on products or services from two different islands each time. Your goal is to enhance production capabilities by investing in upgraded resources, which are available for purchase from the central bank.
The game unfolds in 5-minute rounds, simulating a monthly business cycle. The pace is intense as negotiations, buying, and selling of upgrades create a vibrant stock exchange atmosphere.
