Philosopher Paths is a walking discovery game through the town’s ancient landmarks, providing exciting challenges for teams to explore and learn about Athens' most significant historical sites and stories in a playful way.
What you'll do
Welcome to Athens, the birthplace of democracy and philosophy. Rooted in mythology as the child of Zeus and the 12 Gods, Athens is one of the oldest cities in the world, boasting over 5,000 years of human history hidden beneath the modern metropolis.
In small teams, use your own smartphone or Summit’s tablet to navigate the quest. The digital map features pins that hide puzzles and surprises. Each pin corresponds to a location-related task, such as a puzzle, question, or team activity, proven with a picture or video.
Your route will take you around the rock of the Acropolis, offering splendid views of historical landmarks below (groups do not enter archaeological sites unless requested):
- Ancient Agora of Athens: Discover this famous landmark where ancient Greek philosophers gathered to discuss their ideas.
- Stoa of Attalos: Recapture the refreshing serenity experienced by philosophers 2,400 years ago as you stroll along the rhythmical columns.
- Arios Pagos: Enrich your understanding of ancient democratic values by visiting this outcrop, which offers stunning views of the Acropolis.
- Theatres of Herodus Atticus & Dionysos: Get a glimpse of these well-preserved ancient theatres.
- Roman Agora: Walk by the perfectly preserved Roman agora.
